first glance, created explicitly for gaming.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It came with&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">6 colors combination<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;plus currently running a Call of Duty special edition.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So if you are into that RGB aesthetics, the available color can match your overall vibes easily.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It first came to the market around 2017. It has received updates and refreshment ever since to improve its performance and comfort.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Next, let us talk about the other competitor.&nbsp; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3kn9IKx\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"The Steelseries Arctis 3. in my opinion, is a sleek and beautiful headset that does not look like a <a href=\"https:\/\/gameranswers.com\/is-gaming-headset-good-for-online-teaching\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"gaming headset (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rank-math-link\">gaming headset<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If you look at it quickly and from a distance, it does not have that gaming vibes.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Not until you see the Steelseries brandings on the headset that you know this is a headset for gaming.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So clearly, this is not for you that into all things RGB.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It comes in only two color combination, a black version, and a white version.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Introduced back in 2018, the Arctis 3 has received several updates from Steelseries in terms of its comfort and sound quality.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If you have more budget for your headset, check out our post about class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Of course, when we purchase a gaming headset, we expect to hear sound through it.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And from a $70 headset, we expect to hear good sound from it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Let me tell you how the Astro A10 and the Steelseries Arctis 3 differ from each other from my experience testing them on my PC and various other consoles.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Firstly, both of Astro A10 and Steelseries Arctis 3 comes with 40mm drivers, large enough so you can hear sounds loud and clear with these headsets.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, the same driver size will not necessarily mean they will have the same sound.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Right out of the box, I liked the sound quality on the Astro 10 better.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Astro 10 produce good sounds.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It has deep enough bass and clarity allowing me to enjoy an immersive gaming experience.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is designed to offer details, no matter the frequency or volume you are enjoying it with.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With the Steelseries Arctis 3, however, I did not like the sound it produce that much.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">At least when I first used it right out of the box.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The headset fell a bit flat to my taste without that heavy bass and clarity needed to immerse myself in the game.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To get the sound quality that I wanted, I need to tweak the equalizer for the headset first.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Steelseries used to give the Arctis 3 support through its Engine Software&nbsp;<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">(it is a software that allows you to tweak the EQ of your headset)<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;but has decided to drawback supports for the Arctis back in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To get the kind of sound that I prefer, I need to use 3rd party apps and software to tweak it a bit.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So, if you want to have the best sound right out of the box, go with the Astro 10.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But, if you know your way around equalizer and settings alike, you can tune your Steelseries Arctis 3 to get more bass and clarity.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Both gaming headsets gave me enough noise cancellation that allowed me to concentrate on my game quite well.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And I don&#8217;t see too much difference between the two.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Although, if you have the budget, opt for a serious, active noise cancellation headset.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It will make your gaming experience much more immersive and enjoyable.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now let us talk about the&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">audio input quality<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;of these two <a href=\"https:\/\/gameranswers.com\/can-gaming-headsets-be-used-for-music\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"gaming headsets (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"rank-math-link\">gaming headsets<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Suppose you play multiplayer games like Fortnite or League of Legends with others. In that case, you might want to communicate either with your teammate or trash talk your opponent.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So a microphone is an essential feature for a gaming headset these days to communicate with others within a game.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It has to deliver excellent and clear sound so others can hear what you said.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Luckily these two headsets feature a microphone. And I can say both are good at delivering crystal clear voice to my teammates when I am playing CS: GO.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3kn9IKx\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"The Steelseries Arctis 3 (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow sponsored\" class=\"rank-math-link\">The Steelseries Arctis 3<\/a> microphone has incorporated a&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">bi-directional design,<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;same with the airline industry&#8217;s microphone design that promises your voice can be heard clearly.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And the Astro A10 comes with a&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">uni-directional<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;microphone that picks up sound only from one direction.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For gaming headsets, I will recommend people to choose a gaming headset with&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a uni-directional&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">microphone.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Why?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The uni-directional microphone is better at capturing and isolating the sound coming out from your mouth because it is placed directly in front of your mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With a bi-directional microphone, the mic can pick up sound not only from the front but also the sound from its surrounding.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Have you ever talking with someone on the game, and you can hear the sound of their keyboard click or their mouse-clicking while talking?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Most likely, the person you are talking with is using a microphone with a&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">bi-directional design<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, based on my experience communicating with my children on CS: GO or other multiplayer games using the <a href=\"https:\/\/steelseries.com\/gaming-headsets\/arctis-3?color=black\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Steelseries Arctis 3 (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"rank-math-link\">Steelseries Arctis 3<\/a>,&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">it has done a pretty good job in isolating nearby sound<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;even though it claims that they are using a bi-directional design microphone.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Arctis Mic vs. PAX East\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/c-0YcnN7qpA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out this youtube video by the steelseries to get a glimpse how good the microphone is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As with Astro A10, since its product uses a uni-directional microphone design, you do not have to worry about other noises as it only picks up sound from your mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I can say that they have good microphones for both of the gaming headsets.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So you can choose whichever one you like and still get a good and clear microphone.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gameranswers.com\/what-is-a-great-gaming-laptop\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"Also read: What is a great gaming laptop in 2020? The Steelseries Arctis 3 earpads come with an AirWeave ear cushion that promises to keep your ear dry and cool.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I prefer the earpads on the Steelseries Arctis 3 more than the one on Astro A10, mainly because it is cooler and softer to my skin.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Plus, Arctis
